When I first made this frozen yogurt it
was a complete disaster. It did not freeze as expected probably because I did
not place the ice cream bowl in the freezer for a long enough time. On top of
that, the original recipe called for a lot more Greek yogurt, and therefore the
end results were not very satisfying. I have modified the recipe below and
added a touch of vanilla extract for a better flavor. Although I have not tried
it yet, you can replace the condensed milk with 3/4 cup sugar and a teaspoon of
freshly squeezed lemon juice. Hope you enjoy it.
Ingredients:
3 cups fresh blackberries
2 cups whole milk Greek yogurt
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 tbsp vanilla extract
Directions:
In a blender, puree the blackberries with
the sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract. In a medium bowl mix the
puree with the Greek yogurt. Press the mixture into a fine mesh sieve to remove
the seeds (optional). Pour into your ice cream maker and follow the
manufacturer's directions.
