Sauteed Carrots

carrots, peeled and sliced diagonally
salt and black pepper
a little water
a little butter
a little brown sugar
fresh parsley for garnish

Place the carrots, salt, pepper, and water in a saute pan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and cover until cooked the way you want them, either tender or a little on the hard side. Drain the water. Return the pan to the stove for 1 minute more so that the carrots can dry out. Add some butter and a little brown sugar and toss with parsley.
