Ingredients:
2-3 pieces of Challah bread
2 tsp sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
a pinch of salt
1 egg
1/2 cup milk
toppings:
powdered sugar
strawberries
pancake syrup
Directions:
In a shallow dish, mix the sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, salt, egg, and milk. Cut the bread in 1/2-1 inch slices. Coat the bread on both sides in this mixture. Heat a non stick skillet on medium heat. ( If you don't have nonstick, melt a small piece of unsalted butter). Fry the bread on both sides until the edges are crispy. Serve warm with powdered sugar, strawberries, syrup, and even whip cream if you like.
